For the past two weeks, Scott has being helping his friend Dowe Blumberg weld together an amazing bird sculpture. Dowe was hired all the way from Kentucky to come out here and build his design on the corner of a new shopping center that is being built in Santa Clarita (off of McBean and Newhall). Dowe designed the entire sculpture, and even as amazing as it is, Scott says that these birds are probably easy for Dowe compared to all the incredible things that he can do. It was really fun to meet him - he was super nice, and I kind of felt like I was meeting someone famous! I know Scott loved getting to spend time with his friend, and he also loved getting to go out and help him weld the past couple of weeks.

I got to go out to the site today and see the sculpture almost completed. It was really really cool. Hopefully we'll have some more pictures for you soon, but for now the above one is the only one I have. If you want to read an article that was in the LA Daily News though, copy the link above into your internet page! I was super proud to see Scott in it :) :)

The Post of Christmas Past

Hey Everyone!
So I think I forgot how to blog for the whole months November and December!!! We've been having a lot of fun, but just not telling you all about it :) :)
I will try to blog some more soon, but I wanted to put some pictures of Christmas on here and catch you up on the month of December. Here goes.......

At the beginning of December, we headed to an LADWP light show. Every year they decorate a whole street that people walk, bike, and later drive through.

Then, right after we had just gotten our house all decorated and ready for Christmas festivities, Scott surprised me! He had planned a trip up to Montana to be with the Borntrager half of our family for Christmas! I was SOOO excited!!!

We got to Montana just in time for my brother's birthday. His main present was a Nintendo Wii......and once we cracked that thing out, that's pretty the only thing we ever saw my brother doing the whole Crhistmas break....:)

Here are the guys, all spell-bound by the Wii

Andrew blowing out his birthday cake. It's not too easy to see on here, but mom made a teenage mutant ninja turle cake! It was amazing!!!! She had made one like this when Andrew was little, and he loved it so much she just had to do it again
Mom had wait for us to decorate the Christmas tree

On Christmas Eve, it's my family's tradition to make homemade ravioli. This was Scott's first time, but he was a natural. I think it's from all the Chef Ramsey shows we watch.

Here's my brother guarding the cooking ravioli to make sure it boils to perfectionMom gave Scott and I an early present. One of my mom's good friends and cousins, Donna, had put together and AMAZING wedding photo album for us. It had our whole story, from when we met, to dating, engagement, wedding, and honeymoon. The album has so many pictures and was so artistic. I know that I never would have taken the time to do something like this... and Scott and I both just love it!

Another family tradition - dad reading the Christmas story on Christmas Eve before we open presents. I love this part.

aww....and now the gift opening. look at all of our cheesy expressions :).....

One of my favorite gifts.... Scott made me a Christmas ornament with some sand and seashells that we had collected in Hawaii on our honeymoon!

Family Photos (that's my grandpa sitting next to dad)

Christmas wouldn't be complete without a puzzle....although Scott always adds a new "flair" to any event

I would like you to note that the men all took turns exercising while we were there......

Scott and our neighbor Linda. Linda has been doing the chores for my dad while he is recovering from a knee replacement. Scott wanted to get in on the action, so Linda showed him the ropes and let him take over for a few days....

Here's Scott driving our garbage over to the other yard to burn... yah, we had so much we had to use the tractor.

Here's Scott the Hobo....burning our garbage

Our dog Emmie, she likes Scott.

Our cows

Picture of the month: Farmer Scott :) :)
